Jelisa Lansdorf – Video Art Director and Co-Creator of the Concept
I am Jelisa 'Jill' Lansdorf – concept developer and creative director, working under my own name: BY Jill Lansdorf. For me, creation goes beyond just being beautiful. My work has to be right – not only in terms of appearance but also in terms of feeling. It must be personal, tell a story, and truly leave a mark. In everything I do, I try to make my vision, character, and feeling visible.
Creativity is central to me, but always with structure and purpose. Results matter to me, but there’s always room for creativity and emotion. This project gave me the opportunity to not only show myself as a creator but also truly grow – both professionally and personally.
For the video campaign, I developed the entire visual concept and oversaw the creative direction from start to finish. I drew inspiration from the flair of the Mob Wives and my love for '90s fashion – bold, powerful, and a bit raw. I translated that into a style where luxury, hip-hop, and feminine strength seamlessly come together. From the first ideas to the final images: it had to be right.
That '90s vibe has always been a source of inspiration for me. The imperfection, the courage, and the distinct style from that era form exactly the edge I seek in my work. And although I prefer to stay in the background, I believe that’s exactly where the real magic happens.
The final result? A video campaign in which my style, growth, and love for creativity come together – and a step forward in the direction of the projects I want to continue creating in the future.
Built on vision, marked by vibe – BY Jill Lansdorf.
KIKAY
This video campaign is personal.
It’s about showing up loud, proud, and present. Not to sell something, but to say something.
Jelisa was the perfect person to translate the feelings I wanted to express through the clothing – and the way I see life – into a living concept. It was about power that's shared, not hoarded. Whether you're leading or executing, there must be mutual respect and love, and without that, nothing we build will carry real weight.
I wanted to show a woman in a position of power because I still don’t see that enough. And when it is shown, it’s often questioned. By sharing a part of my own recent experiences through this video campaign, I hope to show people that you only need a few to stand behind you to make it happen. Therefore, one of the models is chosen as someone who has been beside my journey since day one. So, a sneaky personal touch again, but most importantly, you need to stand behind yourself.
Next to that, this campaign is about showing that women, men, and everyone beyond those labels can exist in powerful spaces together, without shrinking who they are. There’s no need to change your passion, act according to social norms that other people consider "correct," or the way you should act and bring things up that people don't speak about, or seek validation from other brands or CEOs.
It’s about owning your power, exactly as you are.
The right people will stay, and the rest will follow what fills their heart; just as you should.
KIKAY and Jelisa both tapped into what moves us culturally. Hip-hop isn’t just music; it is beyond us. And It doesn’t whisper luxury, it screams it. Whether in a warehouse, on the street, or in a ballroom, hip-hop belongs. Always has.
Lastly, show people the gangster within you. Bringing the gangster out has nothing to do with wanting love but everything to do with standing firm for your own morals and the path you should remain loyal to. If people deem it as aggressive, self-centered, or "better than them," so be it, because the right people for you and your path will see it as someone who knows what they want and doesn’t stray from it.
This is more than a look or a vibe.
It’s my way of saying: we all deserve to take up space.
No explanations. No apologies.
Just presence.
